...When you come to think of it...

There are many diseases in the world, some even viscously fatal, but when you come to think of it aren't we all inhabited by the most fatal one of all; age?

Stick with me for a moment. We are all born with it, age, from the very beginning. In fact, even before we are born. From the brink of our creation, we are infected by this disease and when we see light for the first time, we are already experiencing the symptoms. Seconds pass, impressions, fascinations and experiences pass along with them and all we can do is watch them slide by as we get ready for the next impact of what life's throwing at you.

Strangely enough, this is the only disease that we aren't diagnosed for nor does it seem that anyone, not even doctors, seem to care. But then again, why should they when they are also among the infected? There is no need to point out the pointless, right?

Anyway, moving on. Unlike any other disease on this planet, no cure or treatment exist and all we possibly can do is to postpone its consequence, death, through trusting ourselves to the guidelines of people study the beta-effects that provoke this "alpha disease"; obesity, smoking etc., the unhealthy lifestyle in general. A lifestyle that makes this disease much more aggressive.

Or we could freeze ourselves, put us into cryostasis. But once again this is yet another postponing. The disease will simply be put to sleep along with us until awoken. And to think of all the things we would miss by doing so... scary.

But then there's religion, though that's a whole different story. Let's not go there.

Finally, it shouldn't be all grim and eerie. Try thinking of this disease in a different perspective: we are all in the same boat ergo none of us are alone. And if none of us are alone anymore, since we all share the same disease, e.g. all races, all colors of skin, all tongues, all mutations of the genome and all other rarities of our species then...

Do we still have hold reasons for discriminating or waging war against anyone? That aside, do we then have any reason to be afraid of anything anymore?

Some say that we are not always equal, even though we are human beings of flesh, organs and bones. Think of it like if human beings are defined by being born with all limbs and insides intact after our medical books then we are humans if we born "after the book". Now, what if you are born missing a limb of some sort. You are then not after the book and some might say that here's a proof of that not all humans are entirely equal. Since we might all be missing something, at least some small amount of discrimination could exist thus some small amount of "leaving out" will always exist.

But...

If you think of age as a disease we all have inside of us then we can all be missing a gazillion of things and be completely not after the book! It won't even matter a thing since we will all still be completely equal since...

We are all infected and we are all infecting.

Now live long and prosper. :)
Yes. Aha.
