There are many diseases in the world, some even viscously fatal, but when you come to think of it aren't we all inhabited by the most fatal one of all; age?

Stick with me for a moment. We are all born with it, age, from the very beginning. In fact, even before we are born. From the brink of our creation, we are infected by this disease and when we see light for the first time, we are already experiencing the symptoms. Seconds pass, impressions, fascinations and experiences pass along with them and all we can do is watch them slide by as we get ready for the next impact of what life's throwing at you.

_{"Cirkel" by Anders Schmidt Hansen

Decided that I wanted to give the "A new symbol for Europe" contest a spin. Had a few sketches before settling on this version. It's 20 x 30 cm as it had to be in a flag format. Enjoy it in full view to see it all.

I don't usually do political graphics, but hey, the more the merrier.

For what it's worth, here's the design brief:

”Cirkel”: a tribute to diversity united in union. The circle symbolizes unity and equality synthesized with the colors of all 27 flags of the member countries in alphabetic order. The myriad of colors represent the freedom of the many cultures, languages, traditions and beliefs living and breathing within the EU. All concluded in the one golden star split into blue to symbolize oneness and diversity.}

Actually all I used was Photoshop CS4, custom circle custom shape and an Action that automatically duplicated a ring and transformed it exactly 95% smaller. So I just clicked a gazillion times and began coloring afterwards.

Simple, I know, but I really liked the end-result.

I'd love to know that program xD. I tend to do fractals in Photoshop too, though it's been a long time since I last did fractal art.
